As part of its commitment to development in Colombia, ISAGEN engages in comprehensive social and environmental management that goes beyond simple compliance with legal obligations. This management encompasses all of the social and biophysical programs that the Company carries out in its plants' areas of influence in Western Antioquia (San Carlos, Jaguas and Calderas), Eastern Caldas (Miel I), and the Middle Magdalena (Termocentro).

Environmental sustainability and the training of participative, self-managing communities are essential objectives among ISAGEN's corporate responsibilities, justified not only by its corporate interests, but also by its role in building a fairer, more peaceful country with possibilities of development for present and future generations so that energy production can be guaranteed according to socially- and environmentally-responsible criteria.

The Company is aware that stronger interinstitutional coordination has allowed parties to join forces in order to prevent and control the biophysical and social effects that production centers have on their environments. Community participation has also been fundamental in implementing environmental sustainability processes.
