ISAGEN is a mixed public utility entity, incorporated as a Public Company, of commercial nature, national order, and affiliated to the Ministry of Mining and Energy.
ISAGEN is dedicated to generating and commercialization electric energy, commercialization natural gas by networks, coal, steam, and other energy for industrial use, and promoting and executing generation projects nationwide.
ISA is the high-voltage energy transporter with networks throughout the country, and ISAGEN is the energy generator and trader. Both companies are for the most part owned by the National Government, but have completely different management structures.
ISAGEN sells energy to traders who serve the Regulated Market, and Large Consumers represented for the most part by the industry, which belongs to the Non-Regulated Market, that is, those customers that having overcome the consumption limit level are able to negotiate their energy supply rate freely with the trader of their preference.
ISAGEN owns and operates five generating stations located in the Departments of Antioquia, Santander, and Caldas.
The Company has an installed capacity of 2.132 MW, which places it as the third largest generator in Colombia and consolidates it as a fundamental agent in the development of the energy industry in the country.
Therefore, the Company directs all efforts to serve and satisfy its costumers´ needs.
